Humpty Dumpty, reimagined for a new generation

By Navy Singh · Toons By Navy

A rhyme older than your grandparents, dressed for a new set of little eyes.

Humpty Dumpty has been falling off that wall for roughly three hundred years. The trick to bringing a rhyme that old to a new generation isn’t to change it — it’s to make it feel freshly, warmly alive.

That starts with the look. Soft storybook colour, a friendly round face, a sunny castle landscape full of little details to notice — horses in the meadow, birds in the sky, a world that rewards a second watch. Nothing sharp, nothing loud; everything designed to feel safe.

It carries into the tone. The classic rhyme has a tumble in it, but the toon keeps the feeling gentle — more giggle than scare. For the youngest viewers, warmth matters more than drama, and a smile lands better than a fright.

Keeping the words familiar is deliberate too. When a grown-up already knows the rhyme, they sing along — and that shared singing is worth more than any new lyric could be. The toon becomes a thing you do together, not just something playing.

That’s the whole idea: honour the rhyme that’s lasted centuries, and give it a home bright and kind enough that it lasts a little longer. Same wall, same egg — just a warmer place to land.
